Next PTO Meeting: May 5th @ 12:00
The NLMS PTO has had LOTS of good things going on lately!
  • First and foremost, Mr. Rivers has come up with a way to offset some of the cost of the copiers.    PTO has been paying $4,000 per year for copiers in the school.  This is our entire profit from snack sales.  Mr. Rivers allocated funds to split the cost with us.  WHEN YOU SEE MR. RIVERS PLEASE TELL HIM THANK YOU!!  This will enable us to help out in lots of other ways around the school!
  • In addition to copiers, PTO has made the following contributions:
    1. $135 for Science Olympiad registration
    2. $200 for Academic awards, plus $120 in snack passes
    3. $30 for nurses’ lunches with health fair
    4. $80  Commitment to Excellence lunch
    5. Halloween treats for faculty and staff (coffee and treat from teacher snack basket)
    6. $1 snack passes for Mr. Faircloth’s class for winning Red Ribbon competition
    7. $220 to Mrs. Bailey for art station supplies
    8. PTO will provide the meat for the Veteran’s Day lunch on Nov. 15.
    9. We will also have Academic Awards in January and March.
  • PTO will be selling Aggie Christmas ornaments at basketball games after Thanksgiving.  They will be $5 each.  We can personalize them.
  • Mrs. Arnold needs help organizing the clothes closet in the library.  If you are able to help with this, please let her know.  This is a great thing to do instead of sitting in the pick up line.
  • Finally, in lieu of doing another fundraiser, we are going to do one more membership drive.  Please encourage your friends to join.  PTO is really doing some great things that otherwise would not be done at the school.  A $5 or more contribution can go a long way to helping out.
Thank you for your support!

We hope you are all doing well!  Here are a few things going on with NLMS PTO right now.
  • Academic Awards honoring students with all A’s and all A’s and B’s will be given on the morning of October 19.  Students with all A’s are entered into a drawing for $5 (40 given).  Students with all A’s and B’s are entered into a drawing for $2 snack passes (60 given).
  • PTO will assist Mr. Rivers in the Bend Over Backwards teacher award and Commitment to Excellence student award given each nine weeks.
  • We have had a request to help with the funding of the spelling bee and Science Olympiad registration fees. We have also been asked to assist in the purchase of some cones for the gym but are waiting on a couple more prices.
  • PTO will help with a meal honoring veterans in the school’s Veteran’s Day celebration.
As always, please let us know if you have any requests or suggestions.  Thank you for your support!

We hope the beginning of school has gone as smoothly as possible for all of your children.  Thank you all for joining the PTO.  We had our first meeting on Tuesday, August 16.  We had a good turn out and several new faces, which is wonderful.  We hope you all will feel welcome to join us as your schedule permits.
Below are a few items that we discussed:
  • The back to school breakfast for the faculty/staff was a success.
  • Schedule pickup went well.  Thank you to those who were able to help!
  • PTO provided the 5 teachers new to the system $50 Walmart cards for use in setting up their classrooms since instructional fee money from the state does not come until October 1.
  • Angie lunch box/coolers will be for sale during the first few snack dates.  They are $10 each.
  • The first snack day will be Wednesday, August 24 at 1:30.
